Avian lighting is important for a birds overall health. UVB is necessary for birds and enables normal growth and helps maintain strong bone and egg production. Without UVA birds are basically colorblind. UVA allows birds to recognize mates, locate food and identify different species.
Cautions: Do not use in wet conditions. Indoor use only. Unplug when not in use. Keep children and pets away from the fixture. Do not allow birds to chew on the cord or perch on the fixture.
Lamp Compatibility: Designed for use with compact florescent lamps up to 26 Watts. Do not use with any other type of lamp.

Once assembled, place floor lamp fixture next to your bird's cage or perch. Position the lamp reflector housing so it is at least 12 inches from your bird. The lamp should not be placed directly overhead of your bird. Do not place the lamp on the side of the cage, which will force your bird to stare into the lamp.
Turn the lamp on and allow the lamp to warm up for about 30 minutes. For birds from arid regions that receive significant sunlight, place the lamp 12 inches from the bird's normal perch location. For birds that receive less sunlight in nature, the lamp should be positioned farther from the perch.
Only use the lamp during the daytime.
