Preventive health care is an important component of caring for your new puppy. Regular
veterinary visits, administering needed vaccinations, and preventing common parasites all
contribute to your dog’s well-being and will help to ensure a long and healthy life for
your new family member.
Once your new puppy has settled into his new home, schedule a visit with your veterinarian
for a complete health examination. During the initial visit, your veterinarian will administer
any needed vaccines, provide a complete health examination, and begin a health record for your
pup. Take along a fecal sample that can be tested for intestinal parasites. This visit also
allows you to request advice about your puppy’s health, training, and nutrition.
