Neutering Has Health and Behavior Benefits

There are numerous reasons to neuter your dog. Unwanted pregnancies are prevented and neutered males and females are less likely to develop certain reproductive tract diseases, including some forms of cancer. Neutering also improves behavior by reducing urine marking and inter-dog aggression in males. Because neutered animals generally live longer than non-neutered pets, failing to neuter can be an important risk factor that affects the quality and length of your dog's life. Veterinarians recommend neutering male dogs and spaying female dogs unless you plan on breeding your dog. For additional information and advice, consult your veterinarian or breeder.
