Cleaning Ears
Examine your dog's ears each time that you brush him, and clean his ears as often as is necessary. Use an ear cleaning solution that is formulated specifically for pets’ ears. Squirt a small amount of the solution directly into the ear canal and gently massage the base of the ear. With a cotton swab, gently wipe the inner surface of the ear to remove dirt, wax and debris. Clean into all of the folds and crevices of the ear, but do not use the cotton swab below the area of the ear you can actually see.
Healthy Ears Are Pink Ears
The inside of a healthy ear is always pink and clean. Redness, irritation, or the presence of a dark discharge in your dog’s ears are signs of infection or parasites and require veterinary attention.
